Domhan Music
Folk Artist of Mythic Memory- creating prayer songs, nature based songs, spiritual songs and songs for Celtic deity and ceremonial songs of the Celtic year.
Imbas:
In 2020 I was inspired to create a musical series singing and honouring the elements. The elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water for centuries have been honoured in indigenous cultures and have been connected to the four directions with the fifth element being Spirit or Ether. I decided to create the ‘Spirit Works’ series first and since then, elemental songs have been have coming through for each of the other elements that I share in ceremonies. There is a strong emphasis on the Celtic sound with my instrumentation and the mythological link with certain Celtic deities and festivals being focused on. This is to help us remember our wonderful ancient heritage and stories.
Water songs
Domhan’s next release is focused on Water. Here in Ireland, we have honoured Water as a living, sacred and healing source for generations. We have many stories of Holy Wells, River Goddesses, Selkies, Water guardians, Ocean myths, and Water being remembered as a purifying, cleansing, sacred source. One that in modern times, has been forgotten, taken for granted and disrespected. Domhan’s songs are an aim at balancing this for today’s age.
Bog Bodies
In addition to the Domhan project, Ciara is a core member of Bog Bodies - a tribal draíocht rock band. Their genre-bending, high-energy folk sound is somewhere between Christy Moore, Kíla and Rage Against The Machine with a dash of psychedelic trance for good measure.
Their alt folk sound has been gripping audiences across Ireland from All Together Now, Uisneach Fire Festival, Electric Picnic Festival to Stendhall Festival.
Their songs are charged from the ancient megalithic sites and are often political, ethereal and Celtic in theme.
