the heart and vision behind Domhan.
I am a musician and artist, qualified school teacher, shamanic practitioner and energy healer. My passions are creativity, expression, learning, and personal healing and growth. My purpose is to bring a shamanic and spiritual lens to life, to my offerings, to creating music and performing and call forward the integral memory of our indigenous past.
About Domhan:
Domhan (pronounced ‘dow-an or ‘down’) is the Irish word for “world”, “earth” and “deep”. It beckons songs through me that can bring power to connect with to our inner world in alignment to the natural world and beyond.
I want the modern listener to enjoy my music while also feeling an older current within it. So I bring forth my traditional Irish musical background singing both in English and Irish with a hint of Sean-nós style and playing Irish instruments like Bodhran and Whistles while weaving in Modern melody and flavours of world music.
My Path:
I grew up learning traditional Irish music and Ballads and entertaining from a young age. I then began forming bands and expressing Irish music in a more modern way and started to song write and express my inner landscape.
But it wasn’t until I began to open up spiritually and energetically with reiki and walking the path of Shamanism did my true authentic spirit began to express and new world of music and it’s medicine opened up to me.
I began listening to the deeper realms of the seen and unseen and began hearing songs of spirit and of land, places and the elements. I now truly trust in the well known ancient power of song offerings and hearts prayer.
My most innocent dream is for Harmony on a tribal and global level, harmonising communities through song and bringing people together through the joy and beauty of music and its listening.
My Offerings:
In my work as a work as a music teacher - I love helping others reconnect to their own creative essence, inner child and true authentic expression. My offerings include everything from music courses and lessons in bodhran and whistle to vocal tutoring, drum circles, workshops and performances. I also hold music gatherings , ceremonies for the Celtic year, women’s circles and retreats.
